Poetic Practice / Kelly Writers House Dissertation Fellowship
The Poetic Practice / Kelly Writers House Dissertation Fellowship, awarded annually, supports a final year of dissertation writing for a sixth-year Ph.D. student who has demonstrated a commitment to poetics research and practice. The fellowship consists of a standard 10-month stipend at the university minimum, tuition, fees, and health insurance.
This fellowship is made possible by a joint commitment of the Department of English and the Kelly Writers House. During their fellowship year, the fellow collaborates with Kelly Writers House staff to assist with project based on the fellow’s interests. In the fall semester, the fellow also serves as a teaching assistant for “ModPo”, a 10-week open online course led by Kelly Writers House Faculty Director Professor Al Filreis. In the spring semester, the fellow teaches one section of a creative or creative-critical writing course.
The Graduate Office will solicit applications to the Poetic Practice / Kelly Writers House Dissertation Fellowship in the spring semester.
