Nancy Srebro received her BA from Pomona College and her MA from the University of Virginia. She recently received her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. Under the direction of James English, she wrote her dissertation “Adjusting the Focus: the Modern British Novel and the Rise of American Film” which argues that Hollywood's global dominance in the twenties and thirties shaped the nationalist and aesthetic contours of British literary modernism. Her interests include twentieth-century British and American fiction, film, modernism, globalization and the Asian diaspora. In 2007, she received an honorarium for leading the Pennsylvania Humanities Council's "Books on Screen" series.
