Mason Wilkes is a doctoral student in the Department of English at the University of Pennsylvania interested in 19th century British literature. His research focuses on how best to theorize modernity’s primary political actors (whether as individuals, corporations, nations, empires) and how 19th century law and foreign policy shape such scalar questions. He is also interested in analytic philosophy, international relations, and aesthetics.
