Marissa Greenberg received her B.A. in English literature from Columbia University and an M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania
Her dissertation, "A Place on the Scaffold: Performing Punishment in Renaissance London," looks at dramatizations of punitive space and practice to explore what the stage offered Renaissance audiences that the scaffold did not.
Marissa's work on representations of punishment has led her to present papers on such topics as cartography, ritual, and law and gender.
She incorporates these topics, as well as her interests in performance and genre, into her courses on Medieval and Renaissance drama and literature.
