Eusebio Leo Rodrigues

March 1, 1927 - November 13, 2014 age 87. A Fulbright scholar and native of Goa, India, Dr. Rodrigues earned M.A.'s in English at Columbia University and the University of Bristol, followed by a Ph.D. in English at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a professor of contemporary American literature at Georgetown University for 26 years. He authored two books, including Love and Samsara, a historical novel set in Goa. Preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, he was the beloved husband of 47 years of Merlyn Rodrigues; loving father of Esme Abedin and Usha Rodrigues, and devoted grandfather of Roshni, Shanti, and Ariana Abedin, and Cara, Anna, and Ethan Flath. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, 9601 Old Georgetown Rd. Bethesda, MD on Wednesday, December 3 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dr. Rodrigues' name to Georgetown University, http://giving.georgetown.edu/.
