Join us at the Kislak Center (6th floor, Van Pelt Library) on Wednesday, April 13th from 4:30-6 PM for a public screening of In the Shadow of Ebola(2014), a documentary about the Ebola outbreak and its impact on Liberian families. We will be joined by the film's director and producer, Dr. Gregg Mitman. After the screening, Mitman will discuss the film with Dr. David Barnes (Penn Professor of History & Sociology of Science). This event is cosponsored by Cinema Studies & Africana Studies.
Gregg Mitman's In the Shadow of Ebola, co-directed with Sarita Siegel, portrays a family and nation torn apart by the Ebola outbreak, and is awonderful resource for teaching global health, the politics of humanitarianism, African history, media studies, race and social justice, or science and technology.
