Department of English

This is a workshop in which students are encouraged to pay careful attention to classmates' writing and to their own creative writing processes. We will practice and discuss how to organize and plot stories, research them, reason, imagine, write, rewrite and edit. Each student is required to write twenty pages of finished fiction--could be three stories or five or one--and to submit one story for publication. In addition students will keep a story journal and prepare short in-class reports.
