Rowan Carlacci is a doctoral student in the Penn English programme specialising in the Early Medieval Period in Northern Europe and England. Her research explores Anglo-Latin, Old Norse and Old English concepts of cosmology, temporality and the self in time, with a particular interest in the transmission and influence of Late Classical didactic models and cosmologies in Early Medieval Western Europe.
Rowan graduatedĀ cum laude fromĀ Columbia University with a B.A. in History and Linguistics, and holds an M.A. in Medieval Literature from the University of York.
