Eric Robert Jules Hayot

Eric Hayot is Distinguished Professor of Comparative Literature and Asian Studies and Director of the Center for Humanities and Information at the Pennsylvania State University. He is the author of four books: Chinese Dreams (Michigan, 2004), The Hypothetical Mandarin (Oxford, 2009), On Literary Worlds (Oxford, 2012), and The Elements of Academic Style (Columbia, 2014). With Haun Saussy and Steven Yao, he co-edited Sinographies (Minnesota, 2007); with Rebecca Walkowitz, A Dictionary of Global Modernism (Columbia, 2016). His teaching interests include modernism and modernity, world literature, poetry and poetics, and digital/information theory.
