Caroline Weber

Assistant Professor of Romance Languages

18th-century French literature, culture and philosophy, contemporary literary theory. She has published articles on Rousseau, Diderot, Sade, Kant, Lacan, and Lyotard, among others, and is author of Terror and Its Discontents: Suspect Words in Revolutionary France (Minnesota 2003). She is also co-editor, with Howard G. Lay, of Fragments of Revolution, a special issue of Yale French Studies (2002). She is currently working on a study of bourgeois drama in eighteenth-century France and Germany.
