Barbara Fuchs is Professor of Romance Languages and Comparative Literature, and also serves as General Editor of the Hispanic Review. She is the author of Mimesis and Empire: The New World, Islam, and European Identities (2001), Passing for Spain: Cervantes and the Fictions of Identity (2003), and Romance (2004). Her most recent book, Exotic Nation: Maurophilia and the Construction of Early Modern Spain, has just been published by Penn Press. Prof. Fuchs is also the Renaissance editor for the Norton Anthology of World Literature, forthcoming 2011.
