Professor Herman Beavers believes that building effective mentor relationships is important to foster undergraduate research. “Mentoring is perhaps the most efficacious way both to ensure that we identify students possessing the capacity to do independent research and that in doing so, we help them realize their fullest potential,” he wrote in The Almanac.
