The following message, from Dean Steven J. Fluharty and Vice Dean for Finance and Administration Matt Lane, was sent to the School of Arts and Sciences on November 14th:  We are pleased to announce the results of the 2022 School of Arts and Sciences Staff Recognition Program. The SAS Staff Recognition Program was created to reward our dedicated and inspirational staff and recognize their extraordinary contributions.
A seven-member selection committee, comprised of SAS staff and faculty, rated each nomination with the following criteria in mind:

  • Innovation: Embracing change and finding inventive and imaginative solutions to difficult problems. Challenging the status quo (when necessary) and committing  to a solution-based approach towards perceived obstacles.
  • Adaptability and Resiliency: Demonstrating the ability to pivot and adjust to different conditions or circumstances and the willingness to accept and even promote change.
  • Adding value: Adding value to our jobs, departments, programs and the School overall by establishing administrative effectiveness and efficiency, demonstrating a high level of expertise in a particular field, and by collaborating and working with others to ensure best practices.
  • Other accomplishments that had a particularly positive impact on the department or the school or the university were also considered.

The committee was impressed with the exceptional service provided to our school by so many members of our community.  We are grateful to all of the nominees for their exemplary performance and thank those who took the time to submit nominations on their behalf.

Please join us in congratulating all the nominees and recipients of the Staff Recognition Awards. The Staff Recognition Award recipients can be found at the following link: 2022 Staff Recognition Award Winners.
