1. The Grad Seminar: distribution requirements and how to plan your year to serve your goals, the usefulness of office hours, writing requirements, seminar and department participation, meeting with your advisors, working groups
2. Time & Space: using Fisher-Bennett Hall, who's who in the English Department and FBH staff, how to manage your time, the admin of graduate school, campus and university resources
3. What's to come: PhD Program overview (the portion is optional for MA students)

This meeting is mandatory for all 1st-Year PhD students and MA students.
