This hands-on seminar in pedagogical theory and method is required for all second-year students, who will be TAing and running discussion sections for one of the large 100-level courses. Each TA group will meet with its respective faculty member weekly to discuss assigned readings and aspect of pedagogy (usually a few articles per week). The majority of the seminar will be devoted to planning the Friday recitation sections, discussing the course texts, and confronting pedagogical issues as they arise during the semester.
