Natalia Reyes, PhD candidate in English, has been awarded the 2026 Sandra Cisneros Fellowship by Under the Volcano International. The Sandra Cisneros Fellowship was established in honor of pioneering writer Sandra Cisneros and recognizes a Latinx writer of outstanding literary promise and leadership ability. As the Sandra Cisneros Fellow, Natalia will travel to Tepoztlán, Mexico in January for Under the Volcano, a two-week international writing residency, to workshop her novel-in-progress in the fiction master class led by novelist Ayşegül Savaş.
