The Asian American Center for Psychoanalysis (TAACP) Launches Eng & Han Essay Prize
December 4, 2024
In recognition of David L. Eng and Shinhee Han's groundbreaking body of work, The Asian American Center for Psychoanalysis (TAACP) is launching The Eng & Han Essay Prize.
The prize will recognize an original, innovative, unpublished psychoanalytic paper on the psychic and social lives of Asian and Asian Americans.
The Asian American Center for Psychoanalysis is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to our collective liberation by offering "spaces" where we can think and reflect on Asian American experiences and interrogate, reframe, and add to psychoanalysis from our subjectivities. With the guidance and support of many, the Center is founded by Yin J. Li, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice based in New York City. It emerged from their "love" for Asian Americans and psychoanalysis, believing that each will be enriched by the other.
This is a lifetime achievement. Congratulations, Professor David Eng!
