English PhD candidate Matty Hemming has won the James Baldwin Review's Graduate Student Essay Award for her article "'In the Name of Love': Deidealization, Black Queer Feminism, and the Sexual Politics of Another Country.” Matty's essay will appear in Vol. 7 of the James Baldwin Review, Fall 2021.
