Peter Decherney featured in Penn Today

Peter Decherney, director of Penn’s Cinema and Media Studies program and English professor, is featured in Penn Today's article, "Copyright Expiration Releases Works to the World." For the first time in 20 years, copyrights on creative works first published in the United States in 1923 expired this month, allowing books, poems, films, music, photographs, and other creative works to be reprinted and reimagined without permission or fear of copyright infringement. Decherney is the author of Hollywood’s Copyright Wars: from Edison to the Internet and is teaching English 015.401 "Copyright and Culture" this semester.
