Department of English

This will be an in-depth study of two of the most interesting and challenging poets and literary theorists of the 20th century. We will read Eliot's poetry and quite a bit of Pound's; we will also read substantial amounts of their criticism. Prerequisite: some knowledge of 20th-century poetry.
