Screenwriting workshop will introduce students to the writing of dramatic screenplays, while also considering how film storytelling differs from other forms. The course will concentrate on two fundamental issues: 1) how screenplays balance dramatic and narrative perspectives, and 2) how screenplays suggest the internal life of characters. In addition to readings and script analysis, students will complete a number of creative exercises and several draft of a short screenplay.
