Intermediate Expository Writing

This is a new intermediate workshop designed for those who wish to improve their writing.  Students will be expected to write regularly, including drafting and revising essays which are autobiographical, satrical or persuasive.  Attention will be paid to language, style, and argument, as well as to paragraph development, organization, and grammar. Readings from writers as diverse as Wallace Stegner, Jonathan Swift, Art Buchwald, and Maya Angelou will serve as guides, along with peer evaluation and class discussion of student work.

Note: This course satisfies the entire College of Arts & Sciences WRITING REQUIREMENT.
