Matt Rubery

Matthew Rubery graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received his PhD from Harvard University. He joins Penn this year as a Mellon Fellow with the English Department and Humanities Forum. He recently published an article on Joseph Conrad and is now working on a book titled The Novelty of News, which looks at how newspaper publicity influenced nineteenth-century fiction. His research interests include British fiction, film adaptation, media studies, and globalization.
