Hiroko SANO is Professor of English at Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo, Japan.  She holds a PH.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.   Apart from articles on Milton in Japanese publications, she has translated, with others, The Doctrine and Discipline of Divorce.  Tokyo: Miraisha, 1998, and has edited with Hiroko Tsuji, God, Man, and Woman: Readings of Milton's "Paradise Lost."
