Presentation on Unconscious Bias Fisher-Bennett Hall 401

Reception Fisher-Bennet Faculty Lounge 135

Please join me in a special presentation at 4:30 on November 10th in FBH 401 by Dr. Valerie Purdie-Vaughns of Columbia University, entitled "“Is Your Work Real Scholarship?”: What the Science of Bias Can Teach us about Academic Judgments."

Dr. Purdie-Vaughns is a psychologist working at the forefront of scientific approaches to implicit bias, intergroup relations, and diversity. Her talk will outline some of the latest research on unconscious bias in academic settings. The lecture is cosponsored by several SAS departments and is open to all, so please encourage your friends and colleagues from across Penn to attend — Purdie-Vaughns is a top national expert in this field and it promises to be a terrific event.

Please also join us for a reception in the Faculty Lounge at 5:30 following the presentation.
