From organizer Howie Tam:

Housed at Penn English, Latitudes is a graduate working group that spotlights issues of transnationalism, postcoloniality, race, empire, and globalization across time and space. We provide an encouraging forum for intellectual exchange across a vast range of disciplines such as literature, anthropology, history, economics, sociology, and gender/sexuality studies. Every year, Latitudes welcomes critics, writers, and filmmakers from the region and beyond to present and discuss their impressive new work.

You may visit Latitudes' webpage for a list of events we have organized in the past: https://www.english.upenn.edu/graduate/working-groups/latitudes.

My co-organizers, Brooke Stanley and Aaron Bartels-Swindells, and I would be delighted to see you at the event, and we warmly welcome you to become a part of Latitudes this year. Please contact me (haot@sas.upenn.edu), Brooke (bstanl@sas.upenn.edu), or Aaron (aarb@sas.upenn.edu) if you have any comments or questions and if you want to subscribe to our mailing list.

We would appreciate it very much if you forwarded this invitation to anyone else who would interested.

There will be free food, drinks, and—most importantly—a relaxed environment to network with others with similar scholarly interests.
