Short Fiction and Memior

ENGL 010.301
instructor(s):
TR 12-1:30

Creative writing is open to students who are already experienced in writing fiction and to those who are excited to try. The course offers the possibility for exploring ideas and reflections that are always lurking in the imagination waiting to find form on paper. Developing skill in expressing yourself creatively will enhance your writing of prose generally, making your own voice more flexible and interesting. The class will operate as a workshop. Students will assume responsibility for sharing work, reading the work of classmates, and bringing an honest and willing critical spirit to class exercises and workshop sessions. Some writing will develop from common starting exercises, and from reading, but there will be ample opportunity for individual projects. A final manuscript of 15-18 revised pages is required, with dates set throughout the seemster to guide the final submission. Please note this course does not fulfill the writing requirement for College of Arts and Science students.
