"American Literature of Social Action and Social Vision" at West Philadelphia HS in the spring. This course will be open to 10 Penn undergraduates who need to apply for admission to Farah or myself; and there will be 10 West students in the course as well. The course will be taught at West on TTh from 9-10:30, and will involve the Penn and West students in a collaborative effort to research and write community history around such issues as schools, housing, and jobs. The course is interdisciplinary and will involve the students in reading material from literature, history, urban studies, and sociology. It would be good if we could cross list this course with History, Anthropology, African American Studies, and Urban Studies.
