Stage-Centered Approaches to Shakespeare

ENGL 236.401
instructor(s):
W 2-5

The course will explore the specific techniques involoved in speaking, acting and staging the plays of William Shakespeare. The course is predicated on the notion that everything we need to know is laid out for us by the author in the text. The key elements will be: interpretation, though text analysis; application, through practical techniques; and finally, presentation, as we focus on one play chosen specifically to suit the group. There will be a written component, including a final paper.
