Creative Non-Fiction Writing

This course is conducted as a workshop in non-fiction writing, with analysis, and discussion of selected readings in various forms of the essay. Written assignments include the reminiscence-memoir, the narrative, descriptive and reflective essay, argument-persuasion, the social analysis and cultural critique. Critique/discussion of work by class members is the heart of the course, along with review and analysis of essay readings rhetorical strategies and methods of revision. Individual conferences are arranged by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays. Class is limited to 12 to 15 people. Not available to freshmen. (See note at end of English 112 description.)
