The Department of English is pleased to announce seven internship opportunities during Summer 2026, all of which are reserved for Penn English majors and minors. Four of these offer stipends of $3000 paid by Penn English, while the other three are paid directly by the employers (see below for specific pay structures). 

In order to apply, please email the following documents as a single PDF to Dr. Becky Friedman (beckysf@english.upenn.edu) by noon on February 9, 2026:

1. A brief statement of why you are interested in the chosen position (approximately 300 words)
2. Your resume or CV
3. A writing sample (between 5-15 pages)

English majors are preferred for these positions, but English minors will also be considered. Students may apply for any or all of the opportunities, but should send a separate PDF for each. Students should rank their preferences in their email to Dr. Friedman, if applying to more than one internship.

Please note: acceptance of an internship represents a good-faith commitment to the program. Once accepted, the Department of English expects students to honor that commitment and not withdraw due to a later offer.
