Fisher-Bennett Hall Faculty Lounge, room 135
We're so thrilled to welcome Sumita Chakraborty (Virginia) to campus on Thursday, Oct 8th, from 5-6:30pm, in Fisher Bennett Hall's Faculty Lounge (135). Prof. Chakraborty will talk about her forthcoming book, Grave Dangers: Poetics and the Ethics of Death in the Anthropocene (University of Minnesota Press), followed by a discussion. We will be circulating the Introduction ('How Should One Die?') and Ch.2 ('Langston Hughes, Conjurer') for reading--please reach out to Soyoon or me if you'd like a copy! This event is open to everyone and will be of particular interest to those working on poetry, ethics, environmental humanities, and race studies. It is co-sponsored by Theorizing and Gen/Sex!
