This course will explore the literature, visual art, and music of the 1960s and early 1970s Black Arts Movement. We will study the art of Nikki Giovanni, Sonia Sanchez, Gwendolyn Brooks, Amiri Baraka, Sun Ra, Faith Ringgold, John Coltrane, and more.
