I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University
of Pennsylvania where I study English
literature. As you can see, I refuse to refer to myself in the third person,
despite the persistent trend. My work
has centered around the long Eighteenth Century on both sides of the Atlantic
, with particular emphasis on British Romanticism and radical culture.
How did I get here? Well, after four years at Union College in Schenectady,
NY, I eventually found my way to the University
of York, where I completed an MA in English and the History of Art
at the Centre for 18th-Century
Studies. Currently I reside in lovely Philadelphia, not too far from
some of the best historical archives in the country. Among other duties, I help coordinate
Penn's 18th Century Reading Group, and when not roaming the stacks at Van Pelt Library, you
can often find me at the McNeil Center for Early American
Studies.
Check out the William
Blake Archive for your daily fix of Heaven and Hell. Like to row?
I often find myself at odd hours plying the waters of the Schyulkill
River.

For some serious fun check out the
