After fumbling through estc multiple times in order to find a lead of 
interest I decided to follow the name Cotton Mather (1663-1728). Cotton 
works (or sermons) were published primarily between 1700 and 1730. Even 
after his death there are several publications existing with his name.

As you can see from my list of references to cotton mather I have just 
started to gather leads to info. on him. If anyone has any ideas that 
would make my search more complete please write me . For now I am at a 
loss at what else I could do.
