Carolyn
Jacobson
I'm a Ph. D. Candidate in the English Department at the
University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on Victorian literature, and a
great interest in contemporary poetry and literary publishing. I'm also an
Assistant Editor of the American Poetry
Review. And I'm an avid, possibly even raving, Iowa-City-phile.
I spent the 1995-6 school year in London (!!!), doing lots of
research at the Wellcome
Institute for the History of Medicine, and undergoing a self-directed
crash course in the London theatre, which was unbelievably
stimulating.
I spent the 1996-7 school year in Iowa City, writing
my dissertation, and running No Shame
Theatre with some of my friends. You can check out some of my pieces if you want.
And now I'm back in Philadelphia and still writing. I've
taught courses on the personal essay and courses on the Victorian Novel.
