Description: Below is a visual catalogue of all the images used in this website. Each image below is a button that will call up a larger version of the image. Brief descriptions of the images are located on the "Materials" page for each section of the course; follow the linked section-headings to see those pages.

Technical Description: Most of the larger images to which the buttons below refer are high-quality jpeg's that range from roughly 100k to nearly 500k in memory. You may want to think twice before clicking on these if you're using any but the fastest (28.8k) modem or a hardwired ethernet connection. These pages were designed with specific projection equipment in mind, and thus nearly all can be viewed full-screen on standard-sized (640x480 pixel) screens. For those users with larger screens, many of the images have larger versions; you may find these by going to the "Materials" page of any given section.

Additional Note: For best results when viewing, projecting, and manipulating images, we recommend using one of the available shareware helper applications instead of viewing images within your browser application (Netscape, Mosaic, etc.). To download an application, click on one of the following (t: Jpeg-View (Mac), Lview Pro (16bit Windows 3.1x), Lview Pro (32bit Windows 95 & Windows NT). Helper applications for other systems (as well as the un-stuff/un-zip applications necessary to get them up and running on your system) can be found at the anonymous FTP server of the The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). Be sure to reset your browser's preference settings to launch the helper application when viewing images.
