Professor Melissa Sanchez’s New Edited Volume: Spenser and "the Human”

Spenser and "the Human," a special volume of Spenser Studies that Professor Melissa Sanchez co-edited with Ayesha Ramachandran, is now in print (http://www.amspressinc.com/ss.html). The eighteen essays and five response pieces in Spenser and "the Human" treat Edmund Spenser's work as a valuable archive for current scholarly discussions of humanist philosophy, new materialist and posthumanist theory, and biopolitics. The volume includes an essay by Professor Sanchez entitled "Posthumanist Spenser?," which discusses the implications of posthumanist theory for literary study, and particularly for recent debates about formal analysis, historicism, and periodization.
