I’d like to welcome you to attend Eve Eure’s defense of her fascinating dissertation, "The Grammar of Kinship: Black and Native Intimacies in the 19th Century,” on Friday, July 17 from 3-5pm EST, hosted by her dissertation committee: Chi-ming Yang, Nancy Bentley, Saidiya Hartman, and David Kazanjian. The defense will be open to the public from 3-4, and then again shortly after 5 for a virtual toast to Eve once the committee has had a chance to talk privately with her from 4-5.
