Graduate Lounge

ResVic is thrilled to welcome Professor Laura Stevens for a couple events this Monday, and we thought her afternoon Q&A on journal submissions be of special interest to grads at large! Laura Stevens is Associate Professor of English at the University of Tulsa specializing in transatlantic literature of the long eighteenth century, and has been long-time editor of Tulsa Studies in Women's Literature. She is currently on the editorial board for Religion in the Age of EnlightenmentEarly American Literature, and Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers. She was also recently President of the Society of Early Americanists. Laura will be holding an informal Q&A in the Grad Lounge, Monday October 9th, 3:30-4:30pm with coffee and donuts, on academic publishing, journal editing, and other professionalization questions. (Laura was actually a mentor of mine in undergrad after I took an independent study with her on academic publishing and women writers. The experience was invaluable, and I highly encourage folks to stop by!) If you're interested, Laura will also be giving a talk later that evening, 6-7:30 pm in the Grad Lounge, entitled "Home Grown: Raising an Indigenous Missionary in The Female American."
