Professor Ponce de León’s research is situated at the intersection of literary studies, studies of contemporary visual arts and aesthetics, and the study of social movements, bringing together contemporary U.S. Latino and Latin American cultural production within a hemispheric framework. Her areas of specialization also include Latino/a and Latin American cultural studies, Marxist cultural studies, postcolonial and decolonial theory, and critical development studies.
