SOARS (Story of a Rape Survivor) stars a diverse cast of women, combining photographs, dance, spoken word poetry and music to tell one woman's story of reclaiming her body, sexuality, and self-esteem after being sexually assaulted in college.  This educational and entertaining performance featuring the music of Nina Simone, Maxwell and Sade aims to show that the shame, guilt and self-blame that rape victims too often experience can be eased; that the stories of rap survivors can be one of triumph and hope.

This event is free and open to the public.

Co-Sponsorships by the School of Social Policy and Practice, Annenberg School for Communication, English, Political Science, Center for Africana Studies, Penn Violence Prevention, Makuu, and the Penn Women's Center.
