Jennifer Wenzel works on postcolonial theory, ecocriticism and environmental humanities, memory studies, postconsumerism, petrocultures, and African and South Asian literatures. She will give a talk entitled "Contrapuntal Environmentalisms" contextualizing her pre-circulated paper, "Reading Fanon Reading Nature," a fascinating juxtaposition of Rachel Carson and Frantz Fanon that addresses the issue of postcolonial ecocriticism's belatedness and exemplifies how environmental understandings must be postcolonial and vice versa.
