Department of English

This course will concentrate on the career of one of the major poets in English with an in-depth reading for approximately half of it of his epic masterpiece Paradise Lost.  The expectations are active contribution to class discussion, plus a short paper early in the term and a long essay (12-15 pages) at the end of term.
