Department of English

 This hands-on seminar in pedagogical theory and method is required for all second-year students. The group for the fall semester will   be TAing and running discussion sections for Professor Bushnell's English 103, a  course on tragedy. The TAs will meet with the instructor  weekly to discuss assigned readings and aspects of pedagogy (usually a few articles per week). We will also invite experts to come to talk about different subjects related to teaching.  The majority of the seminar will be devoted to discussing the course texts,  planning the Friday recitation sections, and managing pedagogical issues as they arise during the semester.
