Minimum standards for transfer credit in English Literature courses
Student seeking transfer credit for English literature courses should contact the Associate Undergraduate Chair, Deb Burnham (dburnham@english). They should drop off their materials to Professor Burnham at Fisher-Bennett Hall, room 127, and check back for them two weeks from the date of deposit.
WHAT TO PROVIDE:
In order to understand your request for transfer credit fully, we need more than just a Transfer Credit Application. Give us as much of the following as you can:
- A catalogue course description.
- An actual course syllabus.
- Reading schedule, reading list and/or some record of reading and writing requirements for the course.
- Essays and exams you wrote for the course.
- If you can, provide some evidence of the rank of the instructor (instructor with or without a PhD? graduate student? professor & member of the standing faculty?).
STUDY-ABROAD CREDITS
Since many Study-Abroad Programs involved universities whose educational structure is quite different from Penn's, it is especially important for those seeking English transfer credit that they bring all materials listed in the section entitled "What To Provide" above.
