Recommended Courses in English and Related Fields for the Concentrations in Literature and Culture
English majors may count up to three courses outside of the English Department toward their major. None of these courses may count in the core; but one may be an Advanced Seminar. These should be either literature courses from other departments (like Classical Studies, Romance Languages, Slavic Studies, etc.) or courses in Linguistics.Students declaring a Concentration are able to count a wider array of outside courses toward the major, since courses directly bearing on their special area of interest now count toward the major.
