A. Yumi Lee

Yumi Lee is a doctoral candidate in English working in the fields of 20th and 21st century American literature, Asian American studies, comparative race and ethnic studies, and transnational feminist theory. Her dissertation, "'Somebody Else's War': Korea and the Cold War U.S. Racial Order," traces the effects of the Korean War on postwar U.S. racial formations. Her research in 2013-2014 is supported by a University of Pennsylvania SAS/Mellon Dissertation Completion Fellowship.
In 2012-2013, Yumi was a graduate fellow in the Penn Humanities Forum. She co-coordinated Latitudes, Penn's graduate reading group in postcolonial studies, in 2010-2011, and Gen/Sex, the graduate reading group on gender and sexuality studies, from 2009-2011.
