Graduate Student Travel for Library Research

The department budget includes funding for students to travel to do research. The fund provides for up to $250 per request for 10 students, or more, as funds allow. Funds may be used to cover any travel expenses which are eligible under UPenn policy (http://www.finance.upenn.edu/vpfinance/fpm/2350/2361.shtml).

Students are funded according to these conditions:
  1. Each student may apply for funding only once each year;
  2. Funding requests must be submitted before the travel takes place
  3. Students may be funded up to $250, at the discretion of the Graduate Chair
  4. Students must submit receipts in order to be reimbursed

Students who wish to apply for departmental funds can obtain an application form from the Graduate Office or download them from this page:

Your dissertation adviser or, for pre-dissertation students, some other sponsoring faculty member, must sign the application form. Approval will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis until the funds have been exhausted.
