Apocalypse What?
Kerry Moore profile

TR 12-1:30

This is a seminar for advanced undergraduates, preferably with some background in gender and sexuality studies or a strong interest in these issues. We will be studying a selection of multi-media texts -- theatre, performance, film, video, and narratives -- that pose representations of "the apocalypse," a term that we will leave open to interpretation. Our focus will be on how these representations address gendered, racial, and sexual formations in a situation that purportedly represents "the end of the world," where such constructs might be expected to be no longer credible social constructs and/or issues that at the least would be expected to undergo radical transformations. Texts will be multicultural and transhistorical.
